STEP Program

The STEP Program (Survivors of Trafficking Empowerment Program) is a program ran by the YWCA Wheeling to support survivors of labor and sex trafficking in West Virginia. They provide emergency shelter, transitional housing, and legal and case management services to all victims of human trafficking – labor and sex trafficking – including men, women, children, foreign nationals or U.S. citizens.

The Challenge

Develop a strong logo design for their program to help bring structure to their developing program, as well as create print assets for their future use.

Logo Design

STEP Program's logo was designed to represent strength and the steps it takes to overcome your past and rebuild your life. The "E" in STEP is taking on the form of building blocks, almost conceptualizing the idea of stairs. It is meant to empower those affected by human trafficking to overcome their past.

Main Design

The YWCA Wheeling's team decided on the use of a main logo design, accompanied by a secondary variation to use as needed.

Secondary Design

This secondary logo design was chosen to give them potential variations in different assets. The same fonts, color, and icon was used to create a cohesive brand identity.
